Imagination Library
Dear Families,
We are writing to share that the Biddeford Ready! program will be sunsetting in the coming month.
This decision is primarily due to a funding shortfall, including the elimination of the state fiscal match that helped support Imagination Library programs across Maine. Unfortunately, many communities around the state are currently facing similar decisions.
Children currently enrolled in Imagination Library through Biddeford Ready! will continue receiving their monthly Dolly Parton's Imagination Library books through July 2026. No action is needed from families at this time.
It has been a joy to support young readers and families in Biddeford through this program and deliver 8000+ books to families over the past several years. We are grateful to have been part of your child’s early literacy journey and hope the books shared through Imagination Library continue to inspire a love of reading at home.
United Way of Southern Maine remains deeply committed to supporting early learning across Southern Maine, and we will continue building partnerships that strengthen access to literacy opportunities and comprehensive supports for children and families.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to biddefordready@uwsme.org.
